Coach Mike Gentry is in his twelfth season with the Miramar women’s soccer program and has been a presence in the San Diego soccer community for nearly 33 years.

Coach Gentry took over the program in 2016 after having been an Assistant Coach / Goalkeeper Coach since the programs inception in 2007. The Jets have won 3 PCAC Titles in 2012, 2013, 2014, while placing second in 5 other years. The Jets have gone to the play-offs in 8 times in their 12 years. In those playoff runs Miramar reached the Elite Eight twice, the sweet 16 twice.

Coach Gentry has been a goalkeeper coach for 30 years.  During his tenure at Miramar, the goalkeepers have been named Goalkeeper of the Year twice, achieved four 2nd team All-PCAC berths, and have been named PCAC Player of the Week (all sports) four times. 

Gentry has been involved in all aspects of the San Diego soccer scene since 1986 (coach, referee and player).  His coaching experience comes from elite clubs such as Colorado Rush, San Diego Soccer Club, and 15 years of local high school coaching (CCA, Escondido, San Marcos, Rancho Beuna Vista and Orange Glen), 25 years of soccer camps and 619Futsal Director of Player development since 2011.

Coach Gentry received his US Soccer National "C" license in 2000, US Soccer Goalkeeper license in the inaugural course of 2006, and an NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma in 2011.
