#5 Jets MVB Sweeps Palomar to Open 2020 PCAC Season
CCCAA #5 ranked Miramar MVB opened its 2020 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference season with a resounding 25-19, 25-18, 25-15 sweep of Palomar on the road at the Dome.
The Comets stayed close early in sets 1 and 2, before point runs after the 10-point mark enabled the Jets to stretch out leads for the set wins. Set 3 was all Miramar, as the Jets went out to a big lead early and cruised to the sweep.
OH Slater Bird’s nine kills (.381 hitting efficiency) led a balanced Miramar attack. OPP Cameron Einhorn chipped in seven kills (.400), and OH’s Brody Smith and Kyce Salihi (.571) added five kills each. L Joel Aninipok passed at a 2.58 rating on 19 attempts, and added 11 digs to his evening’s work. S Grant Dunlop tallied 26 kills on the evening while setting the Jets offense at a .397 pace for the evening. Aninipok and S Sirex Vasquez each had two aces at the serving line for Miramar.
The win pushes Miramar MVB’s 2020 season record to 7-2.
